Dear Sandra,

We are here to help assist you with educating your students! As school districts throughout California close in response to community mitigation measures to slow the spread of COVID-19, teachers are being asked to quickly prepare plans for students to enable them to continue to learn while schools are closed.

This measure is needed to keep all members of the school community safe—students, staff, families and visitors—while protecting those who are most vulnerable to severe illness and allow the health care system to prepare resources to take care of severely ill patients.

To help you prepare student work packets, we have listed below free nutrition education curriculum and resources that teach students the importance of nutrition and how to eat healthfully.

Community health is at the heart of Dairy Council of California’s values, and we believe the health of people come first. During these unanticipated times, we understand children and their families, as well as educators and the community, are trying to figure out realistic solutions to address their immediate needs and create a new normal. As a leading nutrition education organization, we will continue to provide you with creative educational opportunities that meet the needs of your students as they learn from home while also aligning with state curriculum standards, enhancing student engagement and activity to educate and build essential life skills.

Healthy regards,

Dairy Council of California
